Point of view vs. Perspective.
Two people can have the same experience, sit beside each other, and have the same point of view. But each can leave the same circumstance with a different perspective. Perspective is based on the event AND your own experiences.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on understanding and modifying your perspective. Editing out those limiting, unhelpful messages about yourself, your abilities, your relationships, and your world, such as the “I can’t…”, “I have to…”, “I should…”, etc. All those self-critical thoughts impact your self-esteem.
Together, we adjust those limiting negative thought patterns. This is not like attending school and learning how to think better, and it is not like doing a self-help workbook. It is a growth process where you evict your inner critic and empower your capability. I am an expert at facilitating this eviction process.
